A publication related to MEESO has been published in Marine Ecology Progress Series.
The paper describes the results of investigations tracking single mesopelagic fishes and applying their 3D trajectories in a self-overlap model to observe if swimming in specific patterns would enable both feeding and predator avoidance. The results show a large range of behaviours probably influenced by several factors, and behaviour differing between ontogenetic stages.
